I thought I would give everyone a quick update on the status of my newest novel, Penitence.
So far, the book is going really well. I started writing it toward the end of April and am now about halfway through the writing of the first draft of it. I probably would have been further ahead in it, and really wanted to be by this time, but with the onset of the many illnesses I have had the past few months, it has really drained the creative juices away.
I am sure there are a lot of you out there who can relate to that issue!
Regardless, the process must continue, and that’s what I am doing.
For those curious, the novel is centered around a girl named Christa Goode.
Christa’s life started out dedicated to God, with parents who ran the church she grew up with. Her father, the pastor, has led the flock of his church, comprised almost entirely of the population of the small town of Stillbrook, for many years and is a force to be reckoned with.
As Christa grew older and circumstances became harsh, she fled to a big city, hoping to put her past behind her.
An entity named Samuel, however, has different ideas for her, and has been leading her down a path to fulfill a destiny only he can wield, and she is but a pawn in that destiny.
It’s a story of true love, obsession, demonic possession and abuse. It’s part love ballad and part horror show.
Can Christa bring fate to her own will and release herself from the terrible things she has been subjected to? Or will she be yet another victim in the game being played?

The book should be done within a couple of weeks and I will then go through the edit process with it, bringing in beta readers to make sure it’s up to snuff. If you’re interested, please let me know!
In the meantime, I will keep you guys updated on it.
